APPLICATIONS

Water Treatment for Factory Processes

Industrial process water should be specified at the point where it is used. A rinse line, mixing vessel and boiler may require different water characteristics. Define those targets first, then assess whether a central RO supply or separate treatment duties fit the factory layout.

What to include in your enquiry

  • Provide the process specification, including conductivity, hardness, silica or other parameters relevant to the equipment. Identify the measurement method and acceptance point.
  • Map continuous and batch demand, simultaneous production lines, planned expansion and permitted downtime. Distinguish normal consumption from cleaning and start-up requirements.
  • Share feedwater analysis, operating temperature, electrical supply, tank and pipe layout, and concentrate-disposal arrangements. Include previous scaling or fouling observations.

Planning the treatment process

RO can reduce dissolved substances, but selection must consider the feed composition, membrane operating conditions and required product quality. Pretreatment protects the membrane duty; downstream requirements may call for additional process-specific review. A catalogue capacity should be treated as a comparison point until the proposed operating conditions are defined.

Common project questions

Will one RO stage meet every factory specification?

That cannot be assumed. Submit the actual outlet limits and process requirements for assessment. Some duties may need further treatment beyond the listed RO equipment.

Is concentrate suitable for another process?

Potential reuse needs a separate quality and water-balance assessment. The concentrate contains retained constituents; do not assume it is suitable for cooling, washing or another production duty.
