Well Water Treatment
For an existing well, treatment selection begins with a record of how the supply behaves. Discolouration, sediment or a changing taste can guide investigation, but appearance alone cannot establish water quality. Explain which outlets need treatment and what equipment is already installed.
What to include in your enquiry
- Send the latest laboratory results and note recent flooding, pump repairs, long periods of disuse or changes in colour, taste or smell.
- List household or business demand, simultaneous outlets, pump pressure, pressure-tank arrangement and whether treatment is required for every outlet or selected uses.
- Photograph existing filters, softeners and pipe connections. Include cartridge labels, replacement history and any pressure drop noticed during busy periods.
Planning the treatment process
The first decision is whether a documented problem calls for sediment filtration, another targeted treatment step, or dissolved-solids reduction. Whole-house filtration and RO serve different purposes. Select media and downstream treatment from the report, while considering source condition, upkeep and treated-water storage together.
Common project questions
Will a Big Blue housing solve every well-water problem?
No. A housing holds a selected cartridge; its treatment function depends on that cartridge. Confirm the contaminant, media specification and required flow before selecting a configuration.
Can an old test report be used for a new quotation?
It provides background, but changes at the well may justify fresh sampling. Include the report date and describe any intervening repairs or source changes.
